Rock did quite well. We lost our first match to Michiana.
Being a 7am kick-off and we have been a little slow out of the gate for a few games now. We came back hard and looked in my opinion pretty darn good. Michiana's pack was strong. They had some very young/strong players. The oldest starter was probably 30 so some of us had 10 years on them. Final score was 19-40 or 45 however they scored in the final seconds while we were stretched out trying to 'Make Something Happen'. Michiana Moves on to face Reno in Denver, Colorado in a couple weeks.
Rock played the Sunday match vs. Fort Worth much better.
It was again an early start. Rock went out just to have fun this game though seeding played a part in getting Michiana this year. No big deal though, Many of the guys never have gotten to go on tour before and this was a good chance for us to go out and have a good time. We played much better stress free. Passing, running, working together,
support were all on target.
Rock 40 - Fort Worth 15
Thank you to Coach, The old boys, Players friends and
family that made it possible for us to go!
The U-19 Girls and U-19 Boys had to scrimage themselves their opponents this week were unable to attend the match.
U-19 Girls: It pleased me to see that we had enough U-19 Girls to field two full sides with subs. The girls are really improving. I for one can't wait to see them play their first real game.
U-19 Boys: Also had enough to field full sides. I am excited about the future of this club. Some of these players have not only potential but, raw talent. Old Boys get out your checkbooks and help us get as many of these kids indoctranated into the game of rugby as we can. I talked to a few kids on the sidelines that wanted to play but, were unable to come up with the $100 fee for the year.
Rock Men: After starting out sloppy the men regained their composure and probably looked the best I have seen in a long time. Un-selfish ball handeling complimented by a hard hitting pack proved to push Rock over the Bucks 24-19. Thank you to everyone that stuck around to support the team. Your cheers, and enthusiasum on the sidelines makes all the difference. When you make a big hit and hear the sideline cheer you on it makes us want to do it again and again with bigger and better plays. It's a blast having the support. So from all the players to all of you, THANK YOU!
If you haven't attended USA Sevens you are missing out.
See some great rugby and have a great time with your
teammates or other rugby enthusist.

I was impressed with Malibu.
They were a much different team then they were last year.
Experience seemed to be the largest factor in the game.
Rock was able to capitalize on Malibu mistakes.
Last week the forwards seemed to control the game vs. the Bucks
and this week the Rock backs were clearly the Rock heroes.
A couple side notes. First again THANK YOU for everyone that
came out to support and the players that came out to get
into a second side match and didn't. It's so nice having old boys shout
corrective criticism or just give pointers on the sidelines
and cheer you on. It's like a old boy reunion out there.
Secondly, Thank you to JP and Mathias. JP put my shoulder
back into socket after about 10 min. and Mathias hit some crazy pressure points.
My shoulder right now feels like I never dislocated it at all. It's amazing.
It's still a little tender but, I gotta say this is the second time I have had Matt
work on me and I HIGHLY recommend having him work on any issues you
may have. I had the worst dislocation I have ever had on Saturday afternoon.
I can easily (with no pain) hold my arms up over my head today Tuesday.
He spent like 2 min. hitting nerves around my shoulder. Amazing.
I will post Mathias's information soon. I'm not sure how much info
he would like me to post. I will add a link here soon.
